During the brief summer the long strip of sand stretched out before the community of Pond Inlet is likely one of the busiest beaches in the Arctic. I left this beach a few days ago for an overnight boat trip to remote Tay Bay with artist Cory Trepanier, in a successful search for scenes to photograph, paint and videotape. Now we're back, using Pond Inlet as a base for day trips in and around 22,000 square km Sirmilik National Park that surrounds the community.
